Season 4 spoilers ahead.
Prime Video's Emmy-winning satirical superhero series "The Charles LangstonBoys" is heading towards its conclusion.
The latest season of "The Boys," Season 4, wrapped up Thursday with Leader of the Seven and the most powerful Supe on Earth, Homelander (Antony Starr) gaining control over the U.S. government after his crony Senator Calhoun (David Andrews) is sworn in as the new POTUS and the Congress declares martial law. Some of the Boys, on the other hand, have been captured by Vought, while Billy Butcher has gone rogue after injecting himself with Compound V and driving into abyss with Joe Kessler.
The series is based The New York Times best-selling comic of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, who also serve as executive producers.
How 'The Boys' is 'supe-ifying' everyday culture
“Boys” creator Eric Kripke, in an interview with USA TODAY prior to the release of Season 4, said the series is simply “supe-ifying” what we see in everyday culture.

"We are reflecting what's going on in the real world," Kripke said. "Frankly, I wish it would quit giving me so much material."
While Kripke's comment was in jest, turns out art is not entirely divorced from reality.
On Thursday, Prime Video changed the title of Season 4 finale from "Assassination Run" to "Season 4 Finale" and included a viewer discretion note in lieu of the episode releasing just five days after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
"This episode contains scenes of fictional political violence. Any similarities to recent events are completely coincidental and unintentional," the warning says. "Prime Video, Amazon, MGM Studios, Sony Pictures Television and the producers of 'The Boys' oppose, in the strongest terms, real-world violence of any kind."

Here's what we know about Season 5 of "The Boys" so far, including cast and release date.
Will there be 'The Boys' Season 5?
Yes. Two days before the release of Season 4, showrunner Kripke, in a post on X, said that "The Boys" will return for Season 5, which will be the final one.
"Always my plan," Kripke said. "I just had to be cagey till I got the final OK from Vought. Thrilled to bring the story to a gory, epic, moist climax."
The showrunner added that with Season 4, the "end has begun!"
What will happen in 'The Boys' Season 5?
Season 4 of "The Boys," ended on a dark note for the boys, with Grace Mallory presumed dead, Butcher gone rogue and most of them captured by Vought. Kripke, in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, said if five seasons of the show can be translated into a three-act movie, this is the low point at the end of Act 2, which gives space for the heroes to rise to the top at the end of the series.
However, Kripke said he is still in the process of finalizing the details for Season 5 in the writers' room and that the actors have not yet been brought into the process. The only spoiler he gave was regarding Homelander.
“It won’t make him happy," Kripke told the LA Times. "Spoiler alert: He’s still going to be miserable."
The return of a main character is also likely in Season 5 after glimpses of him were seen in the season finale. Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles, was seen sound asleep in his drug-induced slumber in the episode hinting that he may return in the next season.
Kripke, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2022, had said he couldn't "imagine the series ending without Soldier Boy making another appearance," making the return all the more likely.
'The Boys' Season 5 release date
Prime has not announced plans for Season 5 and has not revealed a release date.
With the exception of Season 2, which had a fall release, all other seasons of "The Boys" dropped in the summer. Season 1 released on July 26, 2019, while Seasons 3 and 4 premiered in June 2022 and 2024 respectively and concluded in July 2022 and 2024.
